One Response to “What is substance P? What are Enkephalins? Which hormone production is influenced by angiotensin II?”
SUBSTANCE P: The effects of chemical thyroidectomy produced by propylthiouracil treatment or hyperthyroidism produced by daily injections of thyroxine on the content of serotonin, its metabolite 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid and of substance P in discrete brain nuclei of adult rats have been studied. Brain nuclei were removed by punches of frozen brain slices.
Enkephalins: Either of two closely related pentapeptides having opiate qualities and occurring in the brain, spinal cord, and other parts of the body.
Which hormone production is influenced by angiotensin II?: thyroxine and triiodothyronine
