By constricting the ____ , angiotensin II maintains the blood pressure. . .?

. . .even when systemic blood pressure drops.

a) afferent arteriole
b) efferent arteriole
c) proximal convoluted tubule
d) distal concoluted tubule
e) renal artery

I am confused because I thought that angiotensin II constricted both the afferent arteriole and the efferent arteriole. An explanation would be helpful. Thanks!

  1. This question is probably about maintaining the glomerular filtration rate. AngII predominantly has its effect on the efferent arteriole. This will increase capillary pressure in the glomerulus and maintain the glomerular filtration rate.
