angiotensin?
is this a diuretic pill? diuretic does that mean I will release water retained in my body due to salt? anyway, this is a new med they prescribe me for my blood pressure.

Angiotensin is not a drug. It’s something in the blood that increases the blood pressure. They may have given you something to effect angiotensin, but they won’t prescribe you angiotensin.
Angiotensin is a potent vasoactive enzyme in the body. It can go from angiotensin 1 to angiotensin 2 and up to angiotensin 3. Each time it becomes stronger at raising your blood pressure. What you were given is an ACE inhibitor. This stands for angiotensin converting enzyme. This drug prevents angiotensin from becoming angiotensin 1 and therefore will help control blood pressure.
if this was prescribed i think u mean angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor(ACE inhibitor) or angiotensin II receptor antagonist(ARA)
angiotensin II is a potent vasoconstrictor… when there is vasoconstriction blood pressure increases. the ARA or ACE inhibitors leads to the decrease of vasoconstriction thus decreasing blood pressure.
